Thanks Whirlpool!

What else do you do when your kitchen is wrapped in plastic? Beach Vacation!

The kitchen in the plastic bubble

We discovered that our dishwasher had been leaking for months! Of course when we pulled out the dishwasher we were horrified to see the mold growing up the walls. Shea called in the big guns -- Mold Remediation Specialists. Our air was sampled and tested, the plastic bubble went in and the offending surfaces were thrown out the kitchen window. Our kitchen sink is on the floor of the garage and our lovely dishwasher is now in the backyard. Ah, the joys of homeownership!

Movin' on up - I'm in 3rd Grade now!

I had a great first day back to school. My teacher, Mrs. Siptroth, is really nice and funny. We have a new principal. He came out to lunch to sit with the kids and he played on the field. I'm excited to learn to write in cursive. I think third grade will be fun! -- Shelby

Middle School Here I Come!

Today was my first day of Middle School. I had a great first day. I joined the band and will play either the flute or the clarinet (I haven't decided yet). They put me in 7th grade math - Pre-Algebra!! I really liked my Science class. So far, all of my teachers are nice. I think this is going to be a great year! -- Lindsay

I can't believe it is our last day of summer! We have had such a great summer, packing in as much fun as we possibly could! Some highlights were: Keeler Cousin Camp, watching fireworks from the boat on Lake Tahoe, seeing Beauty and the Beast at the Starlight Theatre, the Getty, camping with the Duffys, swimming at Grandma and Grandpa's house, HSM2 (for the girls) and the long, lazy days spent at the beach. I think we definitely filled our "fun quota". My ideas of "getting stuff done" kind of fell by the wayside. But, who cares, it's summer! Some of our favorite summer pics...

I got inspired ...

After checking out a few different blogs I got inspired to start my own. I am pretty confident that I will be the worst blogger ever!! But I'm giving it a shot and hoping my technically saavy 11 year old will want to do some updating for the family too. I was blown away by all the adorable pictures and everyone's fun posts. So here goes....
